Prep roundup: Camas tops Union 1-0 in girls soccer

Anyssa DeVera scored the game’s only goal and Lauren Rood sealed shutout as the Camas girls soccer team beat Union 1-0 on Thursday.

The win gave Camas a 5-0-1 mark to cap the first round of 4A Greater St. Helens League play and a four-point lead over second-place Union (4-1-0).

Stars of the day

• Spencer Tibbits, Fort Vancouver golf, shot a 1-under-par 35 at Three Rivers for medalist honors in a match against Kelso.

• Nick Shiraishi and Mark Bajtay, Mountain View tennis, came from a set down to win at No. 1 doubles 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 as the Thunder remained undefeated in 4A GSHL play with a 5-1 win over previously unbeaten Union.

• Molly Beaman, Skyview soccer, scored two goals in a 5-0 win over Heritage.

• MacKenzie Ellertson, King’s Way soccer, had three goals in a 5-1 win over Seton Catholic.

• Heidi Fronk, King’s Way soccer, Had two goals and one assist in the Knights’ 5-1 win over Seton Catholic.
