Letter: Not satisfied with job performance

The Columbian
Published: July 13, 2014, 12:00am

With the July 6 story “Herrera Beutler charts own course,” The Columbian has hit a new low with its less than objective coverage of Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas. The Columbian has now entered the ranks with the likes of The Washington Times, and other less-than-honest newspapers.

Why didn’t the story mention that Herrera Beutler voted multiple times to deny the rest of us the benefits of the new health care law, the Affordable Care Act, or that she herself uses health insurance under which the federal government (taxpayers) shells out the majority of health care funding for her child?

Why didn’t the story highlight that Herrera Beutler refuses to have town hall meetings?

Her claims about “saving Medicare and Social Security” are just lies. I think she would vote in a minute to overturn both if she thought the Republicans had a chance of doing that.

Herrera Beutler is one of the worst members of Congress now employed by any constituency. She votes lock-step with the Republican crowd with no thought of her constituents or their needs.
