The Children’s Center, a low-income mental health clinic, has kicked off its second round of leg-related fundraisers for spring.
For one thing, local artists have turned seven mannequin legs into works of art that are now on display and available for purchase at North Bank Artists Gallery, 1005 Main St. You can meet the artists and even vote for your favorite leg during a free reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22. Appetizers will be served during this “Le’g Arte A la Carte” event.
People’s Choice votes will be tallied in time for “Glamorous Gams²,” the Children’s Center’s second catwalk event featuring teams of local celebrities showing off their gams. Plus, the coveted Golden Gam will be awarded to the team that raises the most money for Children’s Center ahead of time.
Glamorous Gams² is set for 6 p.m. May 31 at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth Street. To purchase tickets and learn more, visit thechildrenscenter.org.
The Children’s Center sees approximately 400 children each week downtown, and is building a new facility in East Vancouver.
