Columbia Way — The Christensen Shipyards warehouse was the setting March 15 for an interactive display of Clark College student endeavors in STEM fields: science, technology, engineering and math. The Clark College Foundation designed the event to show local businesspeople how the college prepares its students for STEM careers. Guests learned about student projects such as water clocks made out of coconuts and bamboo; a rocket that’s part of a NASA competition; software for identifying license plates; DNA sampling; chocolate-chip cookie weighing; and more. Guests also had the opportunity to see the three-story-tall yachts in the warehouse. Learn more about the foundation and its efforts at clarkcollegefoundation.org.
