A $1.8 million commercial building in downtown Washougal has been awarded for design excellence by The American Institute of Architects Northwest and Pacific Region.

The Washougal Incubator Block, designed by Portland-based Works Partnership Architecture and developed by Lone Wolf Development, received a citation award as one of 13 projects honored out of 123 entries, according to the Olympia-based institute.

The winners were reviewed by a jury of four and selected from entries that included custom homes, schools, art galleries, and residential, commercial and industrial projects, all completed in the U.S., Canada, Japan and South Korea.
