York Elementary School, 9301 N.E. 152nd Ave., was placed on lockdown and a parent was arrested Tuesday after an altercation in the principal’s office.

A school resource officer working for Evergreen Public Schools arrested Ciera Davis, 25, after she forced her way into the principal’s office and began making threats, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The building was locked down, with students kept inside classrooms, while staff and officers responded to the incident. The lockdown lasted from about 9:10 until 9:45 a.m., the district said. Parents were notified of the lockdown.

Davis, a parent, was booked into the Clark County Jail on one count of fourth-degree assault.

It was the second lockdown in a week for the district. On Oct. 23, a student at Frontier Middle School, 7600 N.E. 166th Ave., was taken into custody after he was found with a .22-caliber handgun and 400 rounds of ammunition.

That student is currently in custody and undergoing a mental health evaluation.
