The Fruit Valley Foundation is offering a free six-week program focused on shopping, cooking and eating outside of the processed food box.

Vancouver resident Chrisetta Mosley — author of the cookbook, “Shop, Cook, Eat: Outside of the Box,” — will lead sessions on grocery shopping and meal planning, the importance of cooking fresh food at home and preparing healthy snacks and will do cooking demonstrations using beans, whole grains, vegetables and fruits.

The program will be 4 to 5:30 p.m. weekly, from Tuesday through April 30 (no meeting April 2). Participants are asked to commit to all six sessions.

The program is free for anyone who lives, works or plays in the Fruit Valley area. Participants also receive a free copy of Mosley’s cookbook.

To learn more or to register for the class, contact Staci Boehlke at 360-313-1904 or staci.boehlke@vansd.org.

Mosley has lost 170 pounds by adopting the practices she prescribes. She prepares 99 percent of her meals at home using recipes from her cookbook.
