Would you be comfortable living in a country without a postal service? The U.S. Postal Service is in huge debt and is closing offices. Some reasons for this are low volume of postal usage due to online and email availability and poor management. How does this problem affect us? Well, if we won’t be able to send any mail the affordable traditional way, then rates will skyrocket as well as unemployment in this service area.
I am a middle school student and I have some suggestions for saving the Postal Service.
My first idea is to put cameras on postal trucks for recording for Google street views and Bing Streetside mapping. Google and Bing could make a contract with the Postal Service because postal trucks drive virtually everywhere. If Google and Bing work with the Postal Service, not only will they save money from not sending out their own cars, they can get daily updates for their website. The Postal Service could get an income from Google and Bing.
My second idea to make money is to put advertisements on the postal trucks. These trucks go everywhere and they are pretty much a box so they would be great as mobile billboards.
