YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Eastern Michigan has hired Heather Lyke to be its athletic director and plans to pay her $245,000 plus incentives as part of a five-year contract.
The announcement was made Monday. She starts on July 22.
She was a senior associate athletic director at Ohio State, which hired her in 1998. The native of Canton, Ohio, has also worked at Cincinnati. She was a two-time captain on Michigan’s softball team and graduated in 1992. Lyke went on to earn a law degree at Akron.
Eastern Michigan had been looking for an AD since Derrick Gragg left in March to work for the University of Tulsa.
