A 21-year-old was cited for following too close after his pickup slammed into the back of another car Friday morning on state Highway 500, the Washington State Patrol said.

According to a WSP bulletin, Sally J. Davidson, 59, of Vancouver was driving her 2007 Subaru Forester east on Highway 500 just before noon Friday. She slowed for traffic near the ramp to southbound Interstate 205 and was rear-ended by a 1983 Chevrolet pickup driven by Jeremy W. Veselka, 21, of Washougal, WSP said.

Davidson was sent to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Her car was totaled.

Veselka was uninjured, according to WSP. His car had no reported damage.

The crash was caused by driver inattention, WSP said.
