Camas, Vancouver libraries plan ‘Hunger Games’ events for teens

Camas library to host ‘Hunger Games’ party

The Camas Public Library will host a party for teens to celebrate the debut of the best-selling book “The Hunger Games” as a major Hollywood blockbuster.

The event will be 4 p.m. March 22, the day before the movie is released. Teens in grades seven through 12 are invited to eat food from The Arena, build a mini bow and arrow, create a muttation, learn bird calls, participate in a tracker jacker chase and Cornucopia competition, learn emergency first aid tips and join in a free raffle. Those who come in costume will receive a bonus prize.

Attendees must register by coming into the library or calling 360-834-4692.

Vancouver library hosts ‘Hunger Games’ event

The Vancouver Community Library will also host a “Hunger Games” party.

The event will be at the main branch, downtown at 901 C St., from 4 to 5:30 p.m. March 23 in the Columbia Room. Students ages 12 to 19 will participate in activities and competitions. Two movie tickets will be the prize in a trivia contest.
