TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State appears to have it all this season — at least on paper.

The Seminoles also went into last year with lofty expectations and favored to get back to the BCS for the first time in six years. But the 2011 season fizzled quickly after three early-season losses.

Coach Jimbo Fisher said Sunday during media day activities that this year’s team is deeper and perhaps more importantly, a year older.

Fifth-year senior quarterback EJ Manuel is back for a last chance at joining the school’s history of celebrated quarterbacks that includes former Heisman Trophy winners Charlie Ward and Chris Weinke. Both led teams to national championships.

A veteran defense returns nearly intact, although there are once again questions on a rebuilt and inexperienced offensive line.
