SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Occupy Salem organizers say they are taking their demonstration to a new location after being ordered to pack up an encampment near the state Capitol.

State officials told demonstrators on Nov. 14 to remove all tents, waste, portable toilets and other structures from Willson Park by the end of the month. A handful of structures have been in the park just west of the Capitol since Oct. 10.

Occupy Salem spokeswoman Michele Darr tells the Statesman Journal (http://stjr.nl/tsfuQl ) that demonstrators will move to nearby Marion Square Park during daytime hours and hold daily demonstrations on a nearby bridge during morning and evening rush hours. Darr says demonstrators will not camp in the park in accordance with city law but are asking nearby churches to open their doors to protesters overnight.
