A Clark County man suspected of drunken driving was hurt Saturday after he crashed his vehicle while allegedly trying to flee authorities at high speed, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

CCSO Sgt. Randon Walker said the man had been stopped as a possible DUI driver at the intersection of Northeast 119th Street and Highway 503 about 2 a.m. Saturday when he jumped back into his car and fled east on Northeast 119th Street.

The driver reached what are believed to be speeds in excess of 100 mph before crashing near the intersection of Northeast 119th Street and 182nd Avenue, Walker said.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle and suffered multiple injuries, but they are not believed to be life-threatening, Walker said. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

The name of the driver was not available. Walker said he is believed to be in his 30s.
