Volcanoes roll to seventh straight victory

Andre Murray scored 27 points, and Brian Morris had 20 as the Vancouver Volcanoes defeated the West Coast Hotshots 136-122 in International Basketball League action Friday night at Clark College’s O’Connell Center.

The win was Vancouver’s seventh in a row after a season-opening defeat.

The Volcanoes (7-1) led by as many as 25 points, and made 59 percent of their shots from the floor.

Two Volcanoes players had double-doubles. Devin Uskoski had 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Antwan Williams had 11 points and 12 assists.

Alex Hartman added 12 points for Vancouver.

Former University of Idaho player Rashaad Powell led the Hotshots (4-3) with 39 points and 12 rebounds.

The Volcanoes are home again on Sunday, taking on the Portland Chinooks at 7 p.m.
