Day of service will honor Cesar Chavez

Local organizations are teaming up to celebrate the life and work of Mexican-American civil rights leader Cesar Chavez and clean up the community.

Americans Building Community, Vancouver Watersheds Council, Gear Up and One of a Kind Drumline are participating in a Cesar Chavez Multicultural Day of Service from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Lutheran Church, 2700 E. 28th St. Volunteers will clean up the streets and alleys in the Fourth Plain Village and Rose Village neighborhoods.
