About Colorado

One of the original 10 MLS franchises, the Rapids are the defending MLS Cup champions, their first league title. All 11 MLS Cup starters are back.

Player to watch: Forward Conor Casey (No. 8) played at the University of Portland in 1999 and 2000 before turning pro in Germany.

Watch for: Which team will have more possession? If the Timbers are chasing the ball, the altitude could wear them out.

Notable: Timbers coach John Spencer played four seasons in Colorado. He is a former captain for the Rapids and one of the franchise’s honored players. … Brown is starting in goal because Troy Perkins was injured in practice this week. … Zizzo (shoulder) will be a game-time decision.
