Local actor wins Daytime Emmy

Battle Ground’s Jonathan Jackson, 29, has won a Daytime Entertainment Emmy Award for his portrayal of Lucky Spencer on the ABC soap opera “General Hospital.”

Jackson previously won three Daytime Emmys for the role, which he originated at age 11. He left “General Hospital” in 1999, and the part of Lucky was recast. Jackson reprised the role in October 2009.

He was nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category. The 38th annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony took place Sunday in Las Vegas.

Other winners include:

• Outstanding drama: “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

• Outstanding actor: Michael Park (“As the World Turns”).

• Outstanding actress: Laura Wright (“General Hospital”).

• Supporting actress: Heather Tom, “Bold and the Beautiful.”

• Game and audience participation show: “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune.”

• Talk show informative: “The Dr. Oz Show.”

• Soap writing team: “The Young and the Restless.”

• Outstanding game show host: “Cash Cab’s” Ben Bailey.

• Talk show host informative: Dr. Mehmet Oz.

• Talk show entertainment: “The Ellen Degeneres Show.”

• Drama series directing: “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Young and the Restless.”

• Outstanding younger actress: Brittany Allen, formerly of “All My Children.”

• Outstanding younger actor: Scott Clifton, “Bold and the Beautiful.”
