KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) — Developers of a proposed biomass plant in Klamath Falls say they are nearing approval for construction of the $130 million facility.
The Herald and News in Klamath Falls reports that Northwest Energy Solutions Co. plans to send its final application to a state regulatory agency this week.
Last week, the company received notice from the Oregon Energy Facility Siting Council the application was nearly complete.
Officials say they could begin accepting public comment about the proposed plant later this month. If all goes as planned, the biomass plant could be under construction by early 2012 and operating by late 2013.
