Washington fifth-best state for business, Forbes says

A study by Forbes magazine has ranked Washington the fifth-best state for business and careers out of all 50 states. Washington came in below last year’s No. 2 position, but ranked higher than Oregon, which was sixth best in this year’s annual Forbes study, published Wednesday.

Utah received the No. 1 rank, with Virginia coming in second. Maine ranked last.

Washington ranked No. 2 in the nation for labor supply, No. 4 for growth prospects, No. 5 for regulatory environment, No. 11 for economic climate, No. 28 for business costs and No. 29 for quality of life.
