SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., is refusing to debate her Democratic challenger in the 5th District U.S. House race.
McMorris Rodgers said Wednesday that “scheduling constraints” prevent her from debating underdog Daryl Romeyn.
It’s the first time in decades there will be no debate or face-to-face forum for the House seat centered on Spokane.
McMorris Rodgers is seeking a fourth term and she outpolled Romeyn 5 to 1 in the primary election and holds a 100 to 1 advantage in fundraising.
