RIDGEFIELD — The head of the Bonneville Power Administration will join all six elected Clark and Cowlitz county commissioners Thursday evening for a public meeting regarding the BPA’s proposed 500-kilovolt power line through Southwest Washington.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Clark County Events Center at the Fairgrounds, 17402 N.E. Delfel Road.

BPA Administrator Steve Wright has agreed to attend the meeting to discuss the agency’s decision to rule out routing the line through Oregon. The current proposal routes the line between substations in Castle Rock and Troutdale, Ore.

Dozens of segments are under consideration, but all run through Clark and Cowlitz counties.

“This will be a direct opportunity for people concerned about BPA’s decision to bring those concerns straight to the attention of BPA Administrator Steve Wright,” Cowlitz County Commissioner Axel Swanson said.
