Coping with cancer

Krista Colvin has made her name as an organizing maven. Her Web site has a wide following, and she appears regularly on television. Earlier this year, the 43-year-old Camas resident was confronted with something that threw off the routines that ordered her life: a diagnosis of breast cancer.

Perhaps every woman half expects to be in Colvin’s shoes someday. Roughly 1 in 8 females born now will develop breast cancer at some point in their lives, according to the National Cancer Institute. The Columbian is following Colvin through her treatment with occasional stories.
