Stars of the Day

Madison Anthony, Skyview softball, was unstoppable Monday, going 5 for 5 with a grand slam. She drove in five runs and had two stolen bases in Skyview’s 15-7 win over Heritage to open the 4A GSHL schedule.

Parker Bonife, Union softball, was 2 for 3 with a double, home run and two RBI as the Titans won the 4A Greater St. Helens League opener 6-2 over Evergreen.

Hunter Huddleston, Woodland baseball, pitched a complete-game five-hitter with seven strikeouts and was 2 for 3 with three RBI in a 5-2 win over Elma.

Emily Holt and Makayla Lefever, Woodland softball, combined to throw a no-hitter, leading the Beavers to a 2-0 win over Battle Ground. Holt pitched four innings and struck out five. Lefever pitched the final three, struck out six, and got the win.

Skyview golf team: Defeated Union by three strokes in what could turn out to be the difference for the league title. It was the first time since 2008 that Union has lost a home match at Camas Meadows.

April Kluthe, Fort Vancouver softball, struck out 12 in a complete game and also had two hits and drove in three runs in a 14-5 win over Woodburn, Ore.
