RACES AND EVENTS

Clark County Running Club

All CCRC runs are free to members unless noted. There is a $2 fee for non-members. There is no pre-registration. Register 30 minutes before the start of the race. Baby joggers, head phones, and dogs not allowed. Web site: www.ccrunning.org.

Wednesday, July 1 — 7 p.m. Heritage Trail 3-mile Run No. 2. An out-and-back run on the unpaved, flat trail starting from the boat ramp parking area just west of the Moose Lodge at the southeast corner of Lacamas Lake. Directions: From Southeast 164th Avenue, go east on First Street, which becomes Lake Road on the south side of Lacamas Lake. From 164th it’s approximately 4.8 miles to the paved parking area on the north side of the road. If you come to Everett Street you have gone too far east. Rest rooms are available. Wednesday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 15 — 7 p.m. WSU Campus 3-mile Run. Run the beautiful WSU Campus and enjoy a few hills. There will be CCRC signs for parking. No rest rooms available.

July 19 — Harvest Days Battle Ground Fun Half-Marathon. A 7 a.m. start for this 13.1-mile run and walk. Cost: $45 before July 6, $50 July 6-17. Benefits American Cancer Society. Details: www.bgvillage.com.

July 26 — Lacamas Lake Half Marathon. Event for runners and walkers, also includes a 4-mile event, and a short kids walk. Begins and ends at Camas High School. Details: www.lacamaslakerunwalk.com.

Sept. 12 — 2009 Walk and Roll 8K. An 8-kilometer fun run, 11:45 a.m. along the eastbank epslanade in Portland. The run, and the accompanying 2.8-mile walk and roll event, are major fund-raisers for United Cerebral Palsy of Oregon and Southwest Washington. Cost $15 for any of the events. TRAINING PROGRAMS

SAILING

CAMPS AND CLINICS

The Vancouver Lake Sailing Club will hold a summer sailing school programs for children 8-12, and for those 13 and older, including adults. The program will offer classes for different skill levels. All classes will include 20 hours of instruction on land and water, and will be taught by U.S. Sailing-certified instructors. Youth and adult classes will be offered July 11, 12, 18, and 19.
