Friday, January 2 | 11:25 p.m.

The Vancouver Housing Authority is among 16 such groups statewide that will receive funding from the $49 million in grants being distributed by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development agency.

The VHA will receive $62,955 of $1.4 million being distributed in Washington. The money will be used to help low-income housing authority residents become economically self-sufficient by working with welfare agencies, schools, businesses and other local partners.
