Alpha-Tec Systems Inc., a Vancouver-based biotech firm, is expected to be the main tenant of a new office building being proposed for construction at Birtcher Business Center in Vancouver.

The project will be reviewed by city planners at a meeting later this month.

Birtcher is proposing construction of a 44,000-square-foot industrial office building inside the business center at Northeast 147th Avenue and Fourth Plain Boulevard. The first floor of the building will house all research and development production, plus storage, shipping and receiving. The mezzanine will accommodate executive offices, sales and administrative staff. The building will be the company’s new headquarters.

According to its Web site, Alpha-Tec Systems is a medicinal chemicals and botanical products company operating since 1980. Among its products are chemicals used in pre-analytical specimen preparation.

About 35 people work for the business, currently located at 12019 N.E. 99th St. Suite 1780 in Vancouver. Richard Williams is president of the privately held company.
