Camas worm business wins national recognition

Wednesday, December 3 | 4:37 p.m.

Camas-based Northwest Redworm, a live worm sales and composting business, has been named a Top 10 national winner in a Microsoft Office Live Small Business/Startup Nation contest in the “grungiest” Web site category. Redworm owner Doug Knippel has been selling worms and related products since 2005 and this year expects to sell 1,000 pounds of worms. In its second year, the contest is intended to recognize home-based businesses. The Web site is northwestredworms.com.
