Clark County’s commissioners expect to pass a final version of the county’s two-year budget on Thursday.
Though the budget is growing – this year’s will be the first to top the $1 billion mark – expenses are expected to grow faster, forcing the county to cut services across all its departments.
They’ll meet at 9 a.m. in the sixth-floor hearing room of the county Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., to start discussing the budget.

WHen are our county commissioners going to realize they cannot continue with across the board cuts and actually go through a prioritization of services to determine where OUR money would be best spent? I know we all love parks maintenance, but if I had to choose between law and justice and a maintained neighborhood park, I think I'd much rather feel safe in my home than know my tax money is helping pay for a nice place for the transients to sleep at night. Come on, commissioners--grow a set and do the right thing, not the easy thing.
