More taxpayer money ****** on something to be determined by the federal government. $100000 could be better used to help the homeless families with dependent children instead of a group of lawyers in Seattle.Besides that why didn't you use lawyers from Vancouver? Seattle has enough of our money through the taxes at the gas pump.

I think if you check the record we have not had an executive session for legal matters since the dismissal of the prior lawsuit. At that time I believe media was advised that the city stated something like, "It was pretty speculative so we are not surprized." I certainly was not consulted about appealing that decision. Having our attorneys pursue this with given our financial circumstances doesn't sit well. How do you tell good people that they have to be let go while you have time and money to legally challenge Native Americans who want their version of the Waterfront Project 10 miles north of Vancouver? It should have been brought to executive session.

So every year we hav a big celebration at the Fort with the Nez Perce while we are slamming the Cowlitz who are providing local social and health services out of new health department building at I-5 and Fourth Plain. I can see why people become bitter. God forgive us.

Gee I wonder how much Barnett and company paid for Pat Campbell. Integrity for sale, inquire within, eh Pat?
He spent $69k against Mielke as reported by the Colombian, and was prepared to spend $2.5 million. to unseat Somers in Snohomish. So how much did you get?
Those in doubt should go to the Seattle Times website and search Barnett. Just think, if he is pulling this stuff now, just wait and see what happens if the casino goes in. He will own all politicians in southwest WA. Probably all in WA.
The casino must be stopped.

No you do not, client/lawyer discussions are protected by the constitution. You should be able to freely discuss matters with your attorney without any recordings. You are opening the cities up to numerous lawsuits and potentially costing taxpayers millions.

The postings by Pat Campbell are inappropriate for a City Council member in my view. In the first place the main people running the show for the poor Cowlitz tribe are not Indians or are 1/64th such as David Barnett who spouts tribal rhetoric but is about as Indian as someone from Germany or would that be France? This is not and has never really been about Native American issues but is about gambling, gambling syndicates and big, big money. As far as jobs, yeah...it would bring jobs. About 3000 low income jobs which would turn Clark County into a ghetto in short time, much like the other communities around the nation that surround mega casinos, lots of low income multi family housing for the poor people who then work at these mega developments, lots of crime and lots of bought and paid for politicians who shrug their shoulders and say, "what can we do" after the fact, that is. We can stop this now and should. It is not a stable or reliable future for Clark County but would be a quick fix with terrible long term consequences and again, this issue is not about Indians so the Cowlitz will be lucky to get $500.00 per capita payments each month out of this. Pat Campbell, if this person were truly educated, would know this by now. The people doing this are called Salishan-Mohegan. That stands for Barnett and the Mohegan Gambling empire NOT the Cowlitz tribe who is just being used as a way to get a class III casino in a state where it is illegal except for tribal interests.

This is a pathetic statement. The Cowlitz leadership, (again Barnett and entourage) only opened up services in Clark County to try and show a presence in Clark County. (can't believe Campbell didn't know that) Before that they were servicing actual Cowlitz members up near the Quinault reservation where many live and own land as well as Toledo.

Again, since most of the Cowlitz live way north of here I wonder how much these fine services are helping them but aside from that, my tax dollars pay for these "services" so I don't need God to forgive me for calling this exactly what it is, which is a sham/emperor with no clothes routine. Since I pay for those healh services, there is no reason to be bitter, right? Did you forget Pat that it is government dollars that pay for those types of services? Again...those who buy into it haven't taken the time to actually figure out the scam. Again, not about Cowlitz, all about big money and manipulating the "dull" man who will buy into the media push to make this seem something it is not.

Look at he real statistics of crime and problem gambling and the supposed decline of society in area that surround casinos. Roger Wilco? Stop the casino at all costs? I am very tired of hearing this particular point of view. Why is it that the only people who tell me that I'm not Native American are non-Native Americans? I co-led a trip of undergraduate students to the Swinomish Community Reservation and I was welcomed with open arms as family, as a "distant cousin." I have never been questioned by another Native American about my heritage and my right to practice my culture, even if I have dark brown hair and paler skin.

Do we tell Germans who they are? Do we tell Chinese people who they are? No. We let them define themselves. It's really upsetting that people don't understand this.
