A Vancouver electrical contracting company has been honored by the Northwest Construction Consumer Council for its work on a cutting-edge recycling facility in Oregon.

Electrix LLC, based at 115 V St., specializes in alternative energy, heavy industrial, oil and gas and advanced technology electrical applications.

The company worked closely with ReKlaim Technologies on construction of a first-of-its-kind tire recycling plant that recovers carbon, steel, oil and energy from discarded tires in Boardman, Ore.

Electrix installed all electrical components for the ReKlaim facility, including instrumentation and controls, power distribution, the fire alarm system and multiple generator emergency back-up systems.

For that work, it received honorable mention in the green category of the Northwest Construction Consumer Council’s 2008 Distinguished Project Awards.
