Highways close because of flooding

Crews closed state Highway 12 in Lewis County late Wednesday because of flooding.

Waters from nearby Davis Creek and Cowlitz River are rising, flooding the roadway near Randle after steady rainfall Wednesday. Signs and barricades are alerting drivers that both directions of the highway are closed, according to a Department of Transportation bulletin.

Other Southwest Washington flooding impacts: State Highway 131 in eastern Lewis County is closed from mileposts 0 to 2; Highway 101 in Pacific County is reduced to a single lane in Raymond; and Highway 508 is closed in Cinebar.

Also, the ramps from Interstate 5 to Dike Road in Woodland were cordoned off. High water levels were threatening roads in Washougal, but as of 10 p.m. Wednesday, no thoroughfares had been closed.
