The National Weather Service says a strong Pacific storm will bring cold air to the Northwest and the first significant snow of the season to the North Cascades.
Forecasters expect 2 to 5 inches Tuesday above the 4,000-foot level with up to 8 inches on some locations on the west slopes.
Forecasters say the storm will bring more gusty winds and rain to Western Washington. Low temperatures in parts of Eastern Washington are expected to drop below freezing by midweek.
